Donna--my dogs don't chase rabbits or deer outside either--but that's because they did once and learned they couldn't catch them. So now--phht! Who cares!?

Donna, Rabbits and cats are a challenge for most weim owners. My weims have a good leave it command and so far it has worked with the cat, ducks and chickens.

IMO you should try to rehome him. You did a very wonderful thing in taking him into your home but based on his prey drive, you will NEVER be able to trust him

I've used the gentle leader on mine when they were young....changed their demeanor (some would say they were somewhat depressed) they were much calmer with it
